Charity day 28-06-2009
On the 28th of June 2009 a Charity Fun day will be held at Rio Sol Portuguese Restaurant. A special platter will be created for the charity run. The platter will be called the Rio Sol Charity platter and will consist of 1 kg Prawns and Chip/Rice. It will be sold for R110 and R5 of this will be donated to charity (Caring 4 Kids with Cancer). The Charity Special will run till the 5th of July 2009.
Some of the activities for this day include:
Vintage Cars exhibition
Belly Dancers from the Cairo Monn Belly Dance School
Jumping Castle and Ben 10 will make a special appearance
Take Away meals available (Pregos, Chicken ect.) on Sunday
VCR Staff to act as waiters and their tips to be donated to Caring 4 kids with Cancer (www.kidswithcancer.co.za)
All kids under 7 will eat for FREE on this Sunday
Loads of prices to be won (Hampers with Wine, Free DVD rentals, Meal Vouchers ect)
Mr Cilo Cipriano says Caring 4 Kids with Cancer Foundation lies very close to his heart as it is dedicated to Chiara Valle, a very special friend of the family. He hopes that this charity Fundraiser will bring more awareness about these Special children in the Vaal Triangle.
Rio Sol has been in the Vaal for the past 12 years and have grown into the best Seafood and Steak Restaurant in the Vaal. They have received numerous awards, from Runner-up in the Best Steak House in Gauteng (Chateau Libertas) to the PMR Diamond and Gold Award in 2007 and 2008. In 2007 Rio Sol received The Sanlam Cobalt OFM Good Service award, as voted by the OFM listeners.
Some of the famous guests who have dined at Rio Sol include Heinz Winkler, Penny Heins, Michelle Garforth-Venter.
Sandy Cipriano says the most famous guest has to be Oprah Winfrey. Oprah has visited Rio Sol 3 times and just last week she entertained 60 of her guests there. Some of her guests included actors Tandie Newton (Crash), Elizabeth Berkley (CSI: Miami) and Greg Lauren (The Wedding Planner).
